Rizing Zan: The Samurai Gunman is 3rd person action game from UEP Systems. I'll break this up into sections.
Graphics: The graphics remind me a lot of Tomb Raider 1, but worse. They aren't all that good, but it's enough to get the job done. It looks like sloppy polygons, but I believe it's pixels. Not to sure though. 5/10
Gameplay: The controls are very easy to grasp. But it seems to have some sort of stiffness. Play it with Dual Shock better. Only problem with the Dual Shock, is that it turns itself off after every level. One added plus is what I like to call the "mash fest", at certain points in the game, you have to hit every button (except for start and select) to win. Kind of like a mini-game it can get very tiring sometimes. 7/10
Story: The story is good and somewhat original. It's about a boy named Johnny becoming the sherrif of his town when his father dies. After hearing of trouble in the mountains he goes to investigate. Upon searching, he comes across a ninja clan. He tries to shoot them with his gun, but they are too quick. The next thing he knows he sees a bright flash and starts bleeding from his face. He falls to the bottom of the canyon. His father's friend finds him and tends to his wounds. As it turns out, the friend is from Zapangu (Japan) and a master of it's legendary fighting techniques. Johnny begs him to teach him the fighting technique. The friend agrees and takes Johnny and his own daughter back to Zapangu to train. Many years pass and Johnny has become a master of both sword and gun. He goes home to take back his town under his new alias... Zan. 9/10
Sound: The sound is pretty good. But what really makes it good is the voice acting. It's always on cue and perfect. Of course, not many people speak English. Not many people speak Japanese either. Instead, they pull a Klonoa and speak gibberish which is subtitled in Japanese. They aparrently swear too because there are lots of censor bleeps. But it adds to the comedy. The music is also very good. Especially when you do the "Hero" move... Zan gets his own techno music which is very comical. 9/10
Replay Value: The replay value on this game is ok. UEP Systems, added a mode where you play back through each level and get scrolls while trying to get past the level as fast as you can. 6/10
Buy/Rent: I would consider renting this game. But as of now it's only an import. It'll soon be coming to America though. So rent it unless you really like it.
