Macross Do You Remember Love
Review by Tamahome
Macross was a very popular mecha show made in
the 1980s. It is better known in the states as Robotech. There
has been novels made for the show and even games. There has been
countless shooters made for the NES and SNES platform. The only
32 bit platform games for this show is macross digital mission
VFX and macross do you remember love. Macross, do you remember
love is based on the movie version of the show. It is a
compressed version made in the 1990s, and is probably one of the
best anime movies I have seen. Macross: DYRL was made both for
the Saturn platform and later psx platform. The game is basically
a retell of the movie with a 2D shooter game included. There are
an insane number of anime cut scenes from the movie and the game
is 2 disks. The gameplay is not bad. The player basically control
Hikaru on his valkryie into battle thru many of the famous
battles in the movie. There are a total of 11 stages. The player
could choose to turn into 3 different modes just like in the
movies, and he could use 2 main weapons, vulcan and missles. The
gameplay is overall easy for the Saturn version, but the
difficulty is greatly improved in the psx version. Macross: DYRL
is a great remake of the movie, and is worth getting if you are a
macross fan, or even if you just want to play a great 2D shooter.
It is one of those games that you wouldn't regret spending money
on.
