Valken 2 is similiar to the Game engine of Front Mission. Taking meahs, you use turn based combat on a map against the enemy. While Fans of SLG's or games similar to Front Mission may enjoy the game, Others should try the game first.

Gameplay: 8 You take your mechs, move them around, end turn. Thats the basics. More into depth, your mechs can have ailments such as overheating or short circuiting. With basic stats for each mech, such as range etc, some strategy is abound to effectively win the mission. Cockpit views allow to view individual mech's stats such as HP or weapons. However, this becomes reptetive and boring eventually.

Graphics/Sound: 9 The graphics are quite detailed, with mutli toned mechs and landscapes. Landscapes look realistic, as do the Mech animations. Anime portraits of the pilots pop up during story events and dialogue. soundwise, standard music applies, with typical mission-mecha tunes. Sound effects sound for every step and explosion. Nothing much.

Replay Value: 6 This game offers nothing new once beaten. With nothing new to replay and repetitive gameplay in the first place, this game does not hold long to play again. A recommended rent only, to the typical gamer. Only True fans of the genre should buy this game.
